Allied Health Clinical Supervisor Database

banner-image-2
Get Help Quick Close

This database supports mental health allied health clinicians to find clinical supervisors aligned with their supervision needs and goals.

All supervisors listed have confirmed that they meet the minimum criteria for allied health supervision. View the supervisor minimum criteria on the Apply to be a supervisor in the mental health sector information page.

The Collaborative Centre does not validate individual qualifications or experience. People seeking a supervisor should undertake their own assessment to determine whether a supervisor is the right fit for them.

For allied health practitioners employed by Adult Mental Health Services (AMHS): if you work for an AMHS, read the reciprocal arrangements guidance before applying to be listed. The guidance explains how nurses can access supervisors across different health services.

How to use this database

  1. Search for supervisors in the database
  2. Contact supervisors directly to discuss your needs
  3. Confirm they're compatible with your supervision goals

Content use and privacy

The supervisor data is publicly available for the express purpose of supporting people to identify supervision options. The data must not be used for marketing, advertising or other purposes.

Leo Coolhaas

Occupational Therapy

I have been fortunate to benefit from clinical supervision for all my career, initially in my first OT role in a psychiatric inpatient unit for children; a long time ago now where we wrote up child psychotherapy sessions verbatim and presented in group with a child psychoanalyst. I graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Gestalt Therapy in 2001 adding to my approach in clinical work and supervision: client led dialogue, relationship and awareness. With experience as a supervisee, I consistently offered supervision, completing formal education with the Melbourne University Centre for Psychiatric Nursing Research and Practice in 2004. I am passionate about clinical supervision and recognise the value to all clinicians. I continue to advocate for the embedding of clinical supervision in all health practice. I participated in the state-wide expert Advisory Group on clinical supervision from 2013-2014; preceding the Victorian Allied Health Clinical Supervision Framework. I attend Balint supervision, a method where accredited facilitators utilise a structured approach in a group setting. The Balint approach is person centred, imagining and working with the experiences and feelings of all involved. My style is to work with the Supervisee’s agenda, co-creating the focus during our time together and utilising a reflective practice style with a focus on support, education and practising effectively in organisational and professional settings.

Music Therapy

I have been an allied health professional and supervisor for over 20 years. Originally trained as a music therapist in the late 90s, I have worked clinically in several areas, including neurorehab, adult & child disability, paediatric hospital and general and forensic mental health. I developed a clinical interest in mental health in the mid 2000s, and subsequently studied for a Masters of Mental Health. As a graduate student studying music therapy, I realised that supervision was something extremely important and valuable to allied health professionals, and so I have pursued my interests in both supervision and mental health throughout my career. My professional interests include interdisciplinary supervision, mental health support for professionals, and training for supervisors. The values that underpin my work in supervision and professional development are integrity, authenticity and collaboration. My practice is ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability and neurominority affirming. Every effort is made to understand supervisees as individuals, accommodate their needs and be a good ally.

Occupational Therapy

I’m an occupation-centred occupational therapist with a strong passion for inclusive practice. I support fellow OTs to grow in confidence, stay true to themselves, and strengthen their clinical skills through thoughtful, reflective supervision. My approach is grounded in narrative clinical reasoning and open, non-prescriptive exploration—where supervision feels organic, not formulaic. With a PhD in social inclusion, I proudly work as a 'pracademic'—bringing academic insight into real-world, evidence-informed practice. At the heart of my work are values that matter deeply to me: respect, empathy, integrity, and authenticity. I believe in genuine partnership, and I’m committed to walking alongside others with curiosity, humility, and purpose.
