Karen Salter
About me
I am an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and have been practising since 2009. I have extensive industry experience in a range of settings including academic, private hospital, public health, and private practice.
My experience
I have been working in mental health for the last 9 years, with experience in youth early psychosis and severe mental illness. My primary clinical focus is on the role that movement therapies have in promoting function, personal recovery, and community engagement in our consumers. In addition to my clinical role, I am a Clinical Educator, supporting graduate exercise physiologist to get the support, training and information they need in order to develop into strong, skilled and competent clinicians.
My training
I have completed training in both individual and group supervision. In addition to this I have completed a number of trainings related to clinical skills.
My approach to supervision
I hope to build a relationship with my supervisees to encompasses trust, safety and mutual respect. I hope to create a flexible supervision space that allows for sharing a knowledge and skills and encourages a reflective approach to development as a clinician.
