About me
I’m an occupation-centred occupational therapist with a strong passion for inclusive practice. I support fellow OTs to grow in confidence, stay true to themselves, and strengthen their clinical skills through thoughtful, reflective supervision.
My approach is grounded in narrative clinical reasoning and open, non-prescriptive exploration—where supervision feels organic, not formulaic. With a PhD in social inclusion, I proudly work as a 'pracademic'—bringing academic insight into real-world, evidence-informed practice.
At the heart of my work are values that matter deeply to me: respect, empathy, integrity, and authenticity. I believe in genuine partnership, and I’m committed to walking alongside others with curiosity, humility, and purpose.
My experience
With over 20 years of experience in occupational therapy (as of 2025), I’ve worked across a wide range of sectors including acute care, rehabilitation, complex care coordination, mental health (16+ years), the NDIS, Centrelink, university teaching, clinical supervision, and inclusive education within both mainstream primary and secondary school settings.
Alongside my clinical work in private practice, I also hold an academic appointment as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at the University of Canberra. I am proud to be an Occupational Therapy Australia-endorsed mental health occupational therapist, and I bring a dual lens of real-world practice and academic insight to all that I do.
My current role/work
I run a private practice (sole practitioner) where I provide inclusive, person-centred occupational therapy to NDIS participants—primarily individuals living with complex psychosocial disability, trauma, PTSD, neurodivergence (including autism and ADHD), intellectual disability, and those who may be labelled as having ‘behaviours of concern’.
I also work under GP Mental Health Care Plans through the Better Access to Mental Health (BAMH) Scheme, GP Chronic Disease Management Plans, Home Care Packages, and I complete inclusive education occupational therapy assessments (including sensory and functional assessments) and provide coaching to Teachers and Education Support Staff, highlighting the need for timely and evidence-based reasonable adjustments for students with additional needs who access mainstream Victorian primary and secondary schools.
In addition, I offer clinical supervision in mental health occupational therapy to therapists across Australia—both in person and via telehealth.
My training
I hold a PhD in social inclusion and occupational science (Macquarie University), along with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (First Class Honours) and a complementary major in psychology (Deakin University). My academic work is grounded in real-world relevance, and
I’ve published widely across peer-reviewed journals and multidisciplinary textbooks spanning occupational therapy, occupational science, and sociology.
My current research interests focus on consumer-centred practice, co-designed knowledge generation, and the therapeutic use of occupation in both mental health and NDIS contexts. I’m particularly passionate about sensory approaches in trauma-informed care, occupational justice, and the continued development of the Capabilities, Opportunities, Resources and Environments (CORE) approach for inclusive and occupation-centred practice, through theoretical advancement, applied research and practice implementation.
My approach to supervision
My supervision approach is grounded in reflective practice, critical reflexivity, and narrative reasoning. I draw on the therapeutic use of self, value authentic listening, and strive to create a space that is inclusive, non-judgmental, and deeply respectful of each therapist’s unique journey.
