Autism Diagnostic Interview Revised (ADI-R)

The ADI-R is a semi-structured diagnostic interview to assess behaviours related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ADI-R typically takes between 90 minutes to 3 hours. The course is designed to teach clinicians how to administer and code ADI-R with parents/carers of children and young people with suspected autism.

  • Learn about the underlying principles of the ADI-R
  • Practice administration of the ADI-R in role play
  • Watch a variety of video administrations of the ADI-R and practice coding
  • Participate in the administration of the ADI-R with a volunteer parent/carer of child or young person with autism
  • Learn how to code the caregiver’s responses during the interview
  • Trainees will have the opportunity to conduct part of an ADI-R interview and receive feedback and coding advice.
