This means listening to the people with direct experience of our Mental Health and Wellbeing system, as well as carers, families, supporters and kin.
Their leadership and perspectives are critical to shaping meaningful reform. That’s why we embed lived and living experience across every level of our work, from strategic direction to daily operations.
Embedded at every level.
- Governance and senior leadership: our Board, strategic advisors and designated workforce represent the perspectives of consumers, carers, supporters, families, and kin.
- Advisory functions: our Lived Experiences Advisory Panel (LEAP) provides expert advice to the Board and Collaborative Centre team.
- Collaborations and partnerships: we look for opportunities to partner and collaborate with people and organisations who value and prioritise lived and living experience voices.
- Strategic priorities: our key projects, such as the Translational Research Strategy 2024–2027, are designed and delivered in collaboration with people with lived and living experience.
We’re committed to connecting with diverse and marginalised communities, and ensuring they’re not only heard, but empowered to lead the change we need. We acknowledge the deep and lasting impact of systemic harm experienced by many within the existing system, and we are determined to build a future that is safer, fairer, and more compassionate for all.
By placing lived and living experience at the centre of our work, we’re creating a system that is inclusive, respectful, and responsive. If you’d like to stay connected with our work and learn about opportunities to contribute, you can subscribe via our homepage.
