Cheryl Connolly
About me
I have been a mental health nurse for almost 30 years.
I have worked in varied positions, both in Australia and in the UK.
I believe strongly in clinical supervision, and I am able to adapt my approach to suit your needs.
I have found clinical supervision helpful in both personal and professional development over the last 30 years.
I would feel privileged to work with you and share your journey.
My experience
Vast experience in delivering and receiving clinical supervision over the last 15 years.
I have undertaken formal training, and most recently completed the CMHL Clinical Supervision Masterclass.
My current role/work
My current role is as Adult Mental Health Educator.
Prior to this I worked for 8 years in the UK as a team leader on a busy BPD unit and subsequently as Manager of a Crisis Team for 5.5 years.
All positions have their challenges, and benefits, but I learnt from each of them.
My training
Bachelor of Nursing - 1995 Monash University
Graduate Certificate Mental Health Nursing - 1996 Monash University
Post Graduate Diploma Counselling - 2010 Australian College of Applied Psychology
Master of Nursing (ed) - 2013 Monash University
Master of Leadership in Healthcare - 2017 University of Birmingham
I completed the Clinical Supervision Masterclass - CMHN/University of Melbourne
My approach to supervision
I am eclectic in my approach to clinical supervision as everyone is an individual and we respond differently to situations.
I enjoy using a variety of approaches, in order to provide the most suitable approach for each person.
I can use a CBT type approach, a reflective model or something more structured like Proctor or Gibb's models.
