About me
This supervisor has been approved to provide supervision under the ACCESS TO SUPERVISION PROJECT.
The road to family carer lived experience work was paved through my experience of caring for my family members. My lived(ing) experience is diverse, covering youth and adult, disability, chronic medical conditions and aged care. I am a fierce advocate for Family/carer Lived Experience workforce and its further development. I am passionate about shifting perceptions of knowledge production and understanding the fluid nature of multiple ways of knowing. Right now, I’m still learning to feel comfortable in the grey area.
My background is in Natural Health, I studied a Naturopathy, and I worked within that industry for 15 years and it remains a huge passion of mine. I have a Bachelor in Social Science majoring in behavioural studies and I’m currently completing a Master of Mad Studies. I can talk for hours on the concepts of epistemic injustice and power imbalances.
I share a home with my partner, my son, Eleven (dog) and Falcor (bearded dragon).I practice yoga every day, I love adventures (dreaming and doing), live music and finding good food that I can eat!

My experience
I have been a student of lived experience for over 30 years, crossing over many perspectives and I understand how my privilege impacts my experiences. My expertise has been cemented in my current education roles and from working directly with families in a peer role. My experience working at CY-Hope, Monash, in a co-designed, non-clinical program that has lived experience and wellbeing workers in the driver’s seat, working in a collaborative and equal way gave me soeminsight into what transformation can look like. My experiences give fuel to my fire, to highlight the value of Lived Expertise, advocating for the importance of equal and balanced knowledge exchange at the level of governance to achieve change.
My current role/work
I am currently working as Family Carer Lived Experience Educator at CMHL. This role has included the important task of developing orientation training for the workforce. My approach to supervision
The supervision space will be grounded in creating a supportive and collaborative environment. I offer a deep understanding of the collective knowledge of the Family Carer Lived Experience Workforce, recognising the unique strengths and challenges that come with lived experience work, including sitting with discomfort and learning to navigate the grey areas.
I’m passionate about learning to work with the realities of the system and keeping connected to our grassroots.
There is no one size fits all approach, based on mutuality, we’ll work together to find a practice that works best. It is your space and your supervision. You are in the driver's seat, it’s a space to say it as it is - where you feel seen, heard, and supported. We will trust in the process and create a shared reflective space, to share knowledge, deeper understanding, and connection.
