I have a passion for peer work and all things lived experience! I want to support this amazing workforce and the powerful the impact it has on community. I have worked in peer run and peer led organisations for over a decade and have gained a huge amount of experience, knowledge, and learnings along the way. I love reflective practice and feel it is a non-negotiable for peer workers to have access to. I have specialisation in trauma informed practice, supporting suicidality and lived experience leadership both in mental health and perinatal mental health areas.

My experience
Over the last 13 years I have had the privilege to work with two peer run, peer led NGO’s Brook RED and Peach Tree Perinatal Wellness based in Queensland. I have been a Peer Worker, Consumer Advocacte, Capacity Building Project Officer and now work in Lived Experience Leadership roles managing training and development, organisational best practice and reflective practice pathway planning. I started my peer worker journey with Intentional Peer Support Training and Co-Reflection. have worked with PHN’s, Qld Mental Health Commission in launching the Queensland Lived Experience Workforce Framework as well as being a founding member of QLEWN developing networking events, skill building opportunities, programs and communities of practice for Peer Workers. At Brook RED I co-designed and co-developed and delivered ‘Dialogue’- The Lived Experience Workforce Conference that ran annually for four years. I supported the Peer Workforce by developing Masterclass Webinars and Reflective Practice Communities during Covid. I have also been the lead for Peer Zone Australia for many years.
Moving into Perinatal MH Peer Work for the last four years has been a privilege and gave me deeper understanding of the unique challenges of this workforce, I co-designed and developed a Perinatal MH Peer Skills Training and Reflective Practice Pathway that deeply supports the work in this space.
My current role/work
I am currently working as an independent consultant, trainer and supervisor. I am supporting the advocacy and advancement of supporting both emerging peer workers in this sector and the great need to create support systems and frameworks for Lived Experience Leadership to trhive and be sustainable. I have a particular interest in supporting people that have moved into new roles or manage teams and don't feel particularly supported in what is expected of them. I have over 14 years of experience skills, training and knowledge that comes from working and weathering the Lived Experience Movement with all it's ups and downs and still have strength, passion and energy to push forward for future leadership that is so needed in this work.

My approach to supervision
I work with peer values in practice and focus on how these aligning with how you are showing up in your work. I use many different curious tools to guide and support conversations around your self-determination, self-accountabilty and self-responsibility to support you in finding and listening to your own inner strength and expertise. We will work together with Mutuality - leaning into safety, trust, vulnerability and authenticity in our conversations and we will go where the conversation needs to go depending on where you are at and what is happening in your work/personal life at the time. We will nuture deep reflective practice and strengthen your self-awarenees and professional growth.
