As a clinician in the Victorian mental health and wellbeing system, you have a legal responsibility to engage with families and carers. More importantly, when mental health professionals partner effectively with families and supporters, outcomes improve for everyone.
This full-day training will equip you with the knowledge and practical tools to work more effectively and inclusively with families and carers as part of Victoria’s mental health and wellbeing system.
Training includes:
Module 1: Involving family, carers, and supporters in care and recovery
Module 2: Open, safe and effective communication and information sharing
Module 3: Responding to the needs of families, carers, and supporters
These modules are tailored for mental health professionals at all levels, including:
- Clinicians and practitioners working directly with consumers and their families
- Mental health managers and leaders responsible for overseeing service delivery
- Peer support workers and other roles facilitating family involvement.
Why attend?
- Meet your professional and legal obligations under the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022
- Improve outcomes for consumers through inclusive, family inclusive practice
- Gain tools and knowledge that can be applied immediately in your role
