What does the training include?

This 5.5-hour live webinar covers suicide risk and prevention strategies in autistic children and youth. Clinical expertise and case examples will be incorporated in the training to support participants to develop their knowledge about how to assess and respond to suicidality. During this training you will:

  • Learn about suicide prevalence and risk factors for autistic people
  • Explore suicide risk assessment tools and resources adapted for this population
  • Listen to lived experienced perspectives on suicidality and accessing mental health care
  • Explore case examples and develop suicide safety plans for autistic youth.

 

Who is the training for?

Mental health clinicians and other professionals working with autistic children and young people, e.g. psychologists, social workers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, paediatricians, psychiatrists and registrars.
