What does the training include?
This 2-day live webinar will focus on providing practical tools for assessing and understanding how autism presents in adults. Topics covered include:
- Best practice tools and processes for screening and diagnostic assessment of autism in adults
- Common co-occurring mental health and neurodevelopmental differences in autistic adults
- Video case example of an adult autism assessment, including formulation
- Neuroaffirming feedback processes and recommendations for post diagnostic support
- Lived and living experience perspectives.
Please note this training does not focus on moderate to severe intellectual disability and associated behavioural interventions. Please contact Mindful for further information with regards to training options in this area.
Pre-reading materials will be sent 1-2 weeks prior to the workshop date.
Who is the training for?
Mental health clinicians working with adults who want to learn more about the diagnostic process for autism, e.g. psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, speech pathologists, mental health nurses, peer support workers, etc.

This training with be delivered by the Royal Melbourne Hospital Autism Consultation and Evaluation Service team:

- Leonie Wilson, Speech Pathologist
Plus lived and living experience representatives.
Prerequisite training
Adult Autism Introductory
To be eligible for this training participants are required to have completed the Adult Autism Introductory Course (online on-demand training module), or the one-day live webinar Adult Autism Introductory (offered 2019 - 2022). Please see our FAQs for further information.
