About the toolkit

Developed by Dr Catherine Brasier (National Manager, Evaluation and Research, Wellways) in partnership with the Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing, the WIOT toolkit is a practical resource for researchers, services and organisations who want to genuinely include people with lived and living experience in their work, not just as study participants, but as active contributors to the development, conduct and sharing of research.

The toolkit is built around six research stages and includes practical workbook exercises your team can complete together. It comes in two formats: a comprehensive toolkit with full background information and consumer commentaries, and a concise workbook for teams who want to get straight into the practical exercises.

Both are free and available to download now from the WIOT project page on our website.
