About this session:

Learn about the 'Open Dialogue' approach to mental health treatment, care and support. Join Dr. Shelley Hallamore as she presents a consumer journey through Open Dialogue (developed in partnership and with consent of the consumer) and reflects on her experience as a clinician using these approaches to centre the consumer voice.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the core elements of Open Dialogue approaches, including bringing together mental health practitioners, families, carers, supporters and kin for joint discussions
  • Explore how embracing uncertainty and encouraging open discussion can support person-centred care
  • Reflect on practical ways to centre the consumer voice in mental health treatment, care and support through a real consumer journey and clinician perspective
