Victoria’s Lived and Living Experience Leadership Framework 2026–2036 provides a framework for a system that centres Lived and Living Experience leadership in its design, delivery and evaluation.

The Framework focuses on workforce, leadership and partnership. It applies across mental health and wellbeing, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), harm reduction, suicide prevention and gambling harm services and programs operating in Victoria.

The Department of Health developed the Framework with input from Lived and Living Experience leaders, advisory group members, technical experts, peak bodies, system stewards, services and communities across mental health and wellbeing, AOD, harm reduction and related fields.

It draws on recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System, national and international research, and the growing recognition of Lived and Living Experience leadership in Australia and internationally.

This page brings together the three companion documents that support the Framework.
