About me

Tiffiny (She/Her).

Born and raised in the traditional land of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Eastern Kulin Nation.

Before entering the mental health sector, worked in Sales and Marketing.

Values - spirituality, family, appreciation of beauty and nature, love of learning.

Lived and living experience of life changing mental distress, trauma, misdiagnosis, accessing mental health services both good and bad, both open- and closed-door services as well as recovery and hope.

Strong identity as neurodivergent. Different, not less.

My experience

I started working in the mental health sector in 2019.

2019 - 2022

Support Coordinator and Psychosocial Worker for a NDIS registered organisation. Mental Health speciality.

2022 - current

Senior Consumer Peer Worker. Suicide Prevention, Community, Public Health. First peer support worker at MST then BIT/HOPE. Have worked in isolation as well as a small team of other peers.

My current role/work

Currently employed as a Senior Consumer Peer Worker.

Frontline working in a multi-disciplinary team within community mental health and wellbeing services.

Public health sector, Suicide Prevention BIT/HOPE.

Love of learning, have opportunities to build new skills, professional development, public speaking, attend conferences and networking workshops.

Have worked in isolation as a peer and in a small team. Working and collaborating with peers is so much better and healthier.

Often have other projects on the go, e.g. Neurodiverse Employee Network Group, Sunflower Ambassador (Invisible Disabilities), best practice referral processes for peers, advocacy and more.

Use IPS and CPS tools consistently to offer the best possible experience for reflection and personal development.
