About me
Hi there, I bring the skillsets of a peer worker, a frontline professional, a senior lived experience leader, and a creative, and integrate them into my supervisory practice. I combine this with diversity and experience of overlapping vulnerabilities; to support you in your journey now and moving forwards.
Communities I work particularly appropriately with include CaLD, LGBQTIA+SB, neurospicy, disabled, chronically ill, migrants, women, FDV victim-survivors, PTSD or intergenerational trauma experiencers, individuals navigating poverty, social mobility, estrangement, colonial legacies, or marginalisation (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders).
With me supervision is much more than just be talking; I blend a broad skillet as a creative holistic practitioner, who has multiple qualifications and an eagerness to learn how best you would like to engage.
My experience
My experience spans over 20 years, having begun as a peer youth worker in the services that had supported me as an 'at risk' young person. I have since applied my lived experience to manage employability, homelessness, financial skills, music and arts programs, community training, crime and FDV intervention programs; in the UK and Australia. Leading with lived expertise, I have overseen youth mental health service design, family mental health supports, and complex high-trauma multi-agency mental health service pathways.
Having worked with government in both the UK and Australia, I have applied my lived experience to provide expertise on policy design, and professional retraining initiatives related to the highest-risk mental health and public safety content (please ask for details for trauma disclosure reasons). My role has included managing support and providing supervision to professionals (lived experience policy teams, psychologists, social workers, teachers, administrators) working on traumatic mental health content, services, policies, and training initiatives. I have also designed lived experience training, chaired lived experience staff networks of 80 professionals, and devised HR and supervision lived policy guidance; for government and healthcare organisations with workforce sizes of up to 6500.
Wherever you are at in your journey, I am happy to work with you.
My current role/work
I am the Founder of We Tackle Trauma, a lived experience centred mental health and consultancy practice. I offer supervision, therapy, careers coaching, training, ethical research, policy, service design, and organisational consulting. Whether I am working with individuals, supporting professionals, or assisting organisations, I work with an anti-oppressive skillset and an intersectional lens; with the aim of co-creating safety, joy, and wellbeing.
My training
In terms of my professional training, I am a Qualified Social Worker (Master of Social Work), a British Qualified Teacher, and an applied Sociologist (BSc (Hons)). I also hold an Advanced Diploma in Vocal Performance, and I have utilised singing to design a new therapy; as described in my soon to be published lived experience autoethnography research. This research won The University of Western Australia's 2025 Laksiri Jayasuriya Prize in Social Work Research.
I have completed training in peer supervision and peer worker training. I am also a Mental Health First Aider, trained in Generalist and specialist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid. Additionally, I have undertaken significant training in trauma-informed practice, neuro-affirming practice, mentoring and coaching, careers guidance, advice and guidance, somatic practices and embodied trauma, arts and crafts, ritual and wellbeing.
My approach to supervision
My approach is anti-oppressive, with the focus on working with you in the way that best works for you.
I offer general peer supervision, peer supervision that integrates embodiment and somatic practices, creative peer supervision, careers planning, executive and researcher specific peer supervision.
