About me
Highly experienced and skilled professional supervision of mental health practitioners, particularly Occupational Therapists.
Based in South Australia where my clinical private practice is located, I work both in my clinic setting and online using my Zoom platform.
Professional Supervision includes clinical skill development, guidance on professionalism, support for the development of your own practice profile, as well as mentoring and coaching for your bigger picture plans.
With wide experience in various mental health clinical settings including my long standing private mental health practice, as well as extensive experience as a clinical supervisor manager and mentor for many professionals over the years, my strengths based and client (that is you!) focussed approach is collaborative, valued and helps guide your professional practice and plans into the future.
Particular areas of my current clinical work: Medicare (anxiety, depression, PTSD, BPAD and other mental health conditions and adjustment disorders); NDIS sessional work with people with more severe complex and enduring mental health conditions; medicolegal functional capacity assessments for workcover, insurance matters, NDIS with a mental health lens.
Clinical approach: combining OT approaches based in function and meaningful activity with CBT, more recent third wave practices such as ACT, CFT, MBCBT and also Narrative therapy. Current interest and training in DNA-V model.
My experience
Over 25 years clinical experience across mental health service provision in a primary health care setting (GP surgeries) to tertiary services (Public mental health community based settings predominantly) in South Australia and UK.
Provision of national involvement in Australian mental health service provision OT education reference groups and development of frameworks and guidelines for mental health work for occupational therapists for many years.
Teaching experience over my career including UniSA, Flinders Uni tutoring and lecturing in occupational therapy mental health related subjects, professional practice in allied health profession training, and mental health courses within the Behavioural Heath Unit at Flinders university.
Past development of Stage 2 supervision goal directed practices for overseas qualified OTs entering Australia as the Professional Advisor to the organisation tasked with this in Australia up until recently (OQAC) for the OT Board of Australia.
Supervision for mental health practitioners including OT's, social workers, counsellors, student clinicians, peer mentors and support workers over many years. My long standing supervision business is my joy, and I do online Australia wide with a promise to meet up at least once in person (I can come to you), as well as in-clinic sessions in Adelaide South Australia

My approach to supervision
Collaborative, reflective practice, values and strengths based approach.
I access and use various models and frameworks in my supervision work including Hewson and Carrol's Supervision Triangle.
I and am guided by your needs in terms of the tools we use in reflective practice which can include case presentations, role play, review of recordings, learning guides, and discussion topics.
