Children and adolescents present to mental health services on occasion with recurring somatic complaints that are unable to be explained by any well-defined physical disorder. This seminar on young people presenting with somatic symptoms and associated functional issues will offer an overview of the theory of psychosomatic disorders, common psychosomatic presentations in childhood, and their diagnosis and management. This information will be illustrated by clinical case material.
