The Collective - Documenting as a FCLEW: Navigating ethical dilemmas

This session is designed to support Family Carer Lived Experience Workers (FCLEWs) to explore the complexities of documenting Family Carer contacts within an individualistic clinical system, unpack relevant privacy legislation, and build practical skills for writing safe, discipline-specific notes. 

In this session we will explore: 

• The Context of FCLEW Documentation & Ethical Dilemmas: Understand systemic challenges and how to balance service data requirements with our Lived Experience values. 

• Privacy Legislation, FOI, and Supported Decision-Making: Build knowledge of relevant legislation regarding privacy and confidentiality. 

• Practical Skills: Discuss ways to implement relational note-writing. 

   

The Collective FCLEW workshops are intentionally designed for interaction, mutual learning, and deep-dive discussions. This practical workshop offers a unique space to build a deeper connection to your daily work. Through the mutual sharing of our expertise, we cultivate the community and collective wisdom that defines our discipline.  

Eligibility criteria: All registrants for this training must be employed in a Family Carer Lived Experience role in Victoria. 

Due to limits on the number of registrants who can attend the training, those new to the workforce will be prioritised.
