Safe medication administration

These online CPD modules outline practitioner responsibilities and documentation requirements for safe medication administration that reflects the Medication Safety National Standards. This includes clinical governance, quality improvement and providing guidance for obtaining a best possible medication history (BPMH). You will also gain an understanding of high-risk medications and learn strategies on how to reduce the risk of harm associated with their use. Additionally, you will gain knowledge on the formulas required to complete medication calculations for three types of medications: oral tablets, mixtures and solutions, and intravenous medications.

The six-hour interactive workshop will provide you with the opportunity to practice the skills of safe medication administration under simulation that reflects current industry procedures and guidelines. You will have the opportunity for hands-on practice with intravenous medication administration and intravenous infusions.
