Who this training is for: Social Workers ONLY working within public mental health sector

This interactive workshop introduces social workers to a systemic way of thinking and working with children, young people and families. Participants will explore how to move beyond individual, problem-focused explanations of distress and develop a more relational/ systemic understanding of people within their family, social and cultural contexts.

Through reflective exercises, case discussions and practical skills activities, clinicians will learn to apply the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy), use circular questioning to explore patterns and relationships, and strengthen family-inclusive practice. The workshop provides practical tools that can be applied across assessment, engagement, formulation and intervention in a range of social work settings.
